about
I wrote this song about 3 years ago while I was still living in Virginia. The summertime there is absolutely gorgeous. I remember walking with my friends through the Blue Ridge Mountains and smelling the sweet aroma of honeysuckle flowers in the air. Pure bliss! We played music, made food together, and sat under the stars by the bonfire. I never wanted those moments to end. I felt young, I felt sexy, and I was in love!
I hope you love this song. We worked so hard on it and poured every bit of passion that we have into it. I'd like to give a special thanks to Philip Glenn for arranging the strings, Alex Sadnik for the horn arrangements, Tabor Allen on drums, Stuart Liebig on bass, and Jeff Parker on electric guitar. It was an absolute dream to work with Chris Schlarb and the rest of the BIG EGO family on this one. We hope you enjoy "Sweet June Nectar"...
lyrics
Sweet June Nectar
Filled the air
With your aroma
Jean blouse mornings
Fingers though your hair
Your scent still on me
But how long can you stay
In my arms
Before you go chasing the sun?
Oh, will you remember me like
Sweet June Nectar?
Move in a little closer
I can almost taste it
Come on feed my hunger
And I'm so intoxicated
By your fragrance
But how long can you stay
In my arms
Before you go chasing the sun?
Oh, will you remember me like
Sweet June Nectar?
When you're no longer here with me
I feel so bittersweet
I need June nectar
Sweet June Nectar
